  • How Empaths Can Thrive In the Miracle Zone

How Empaths Can Thrive In the Miracle Zone

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About How Empaths Can Thrive Inside the Miracle Zone

Did you know that being empathic is a superpower? “Empath” is derived from the Greek word “em,” meaning “in” and “patheos” meaning “feeling.” Being an empath means that you’re able to “feel into” so much of life–even into what other people are experiencing.

However, it sometimes doesn’t feel like a superpower. When you can easily pick up on the energies of other people and the external environment around you, it can be overwhelming and draining. Being so tuned into the outside world can often take us away from our internal sense of peace and wellbeing. This can make all of the events happening in our world today even more intense, because you’re feeling the effects of them so deeply.

If you can relate to being an empath or highly sensitive person, we want you to know that you’re not alone. We’re right there with you, and we have so many empaths in Your Year of Miracles community.

To thrive in the Miracle Zone as an empath or highly sensitive person, first embrace your gifts.

Your gifts include creativity, feeling connected to nature, and the capacity to love very deeply. You have the ability to sense and feel what’s going on in your life and be guided by your intuition. Empaths are often working on the frontlines of helping professions and want to make the world a better place–and this is an amazing gift for the world!

There are truly beautiful possibilities that are available to you through your empathic gifts. So how can you support yourself so that you aren’t consumed by the challenges of feeling everything?

It’s important to understand that our bodies are built for sensing and perceiving. In fact, our nervous systems are 100 to 10,000 times more sensory than they are motor. The problem is, if we live in our heads and we don’t come down into our bodies, that sensory input is too overwhelming.

To come into our bodies, we can go back to the breath.

Here’s an exercise to support you as an empath to thrive inside the Miracle Zone:

    1. The moment that you start to feel oversensitive, overwhelmed, or overstimulated, take a deep breath into your belly and exhale into the earth. Drop your breath through the tip of your spine and let it land two feet below you.
    2. Then, take another deep breath into your belly and exhale into the earth.
    3. Practice dropping and anchoring into the earth and doing “mula bandha,” which is contracting the muscles in your pelvic bowl and squeezing them as if you were going to the bathroom and you had to stop that stream. Keep them squeezed, breathe into your belly, and exhale down into the earth.
    4. Then inhale up from the earth into your belly and exhale right back down into the earth again.
    5. As you do this, bring your focus of attention onto yourself, rather than on the external environment. This is called “coming off of object and onto subject.”
    6. Next, you can experiment a little. Put your attention on something somewhere else in the room and see how your energy rushes over there to it. You can then call your energy back to you. Imagine breathing in all of those energies and exhaling them into the earth.

By grounding your energy through this breathing practice, you can overcome your overwhelm.

As you practice this, you will feel like an entirely different person in the face of whatever is going on.

The beauty of this practice is that as you stabilize yourself, you can then have a stabilizing presence for those around you too. This will help you to stay in your own energetic space while still being open to what’s going on in the world from a place of groundedness and centeredness.

Most importantly, rather than being hindered by your empathic sensitive tendencies, your life experience will be enhanced by them.

“Everything that human beings feel, we feel. We can become extremely wise and sensitive to all of humanity and the whole universe simply by knowing ourselves, just as we are.” ~Pema Chodron

Please leave a comment and let us know about your gifts as an empath or highly sensitive person. What are you grateful for? We look forward to hearing from you!

  • Being At Home Wherever You Are

Being At Home Wherever You Are

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About Being At Home Wherever You Are

Have you ever been around someone who seems to feel so comfortable in their skin and relaxed wherever they are? Would you like to also have that experience of feeling like wherever you go in the world, you’re at home, no matter what?

I (Marci) have had the honor of knowing some amazing people in this world, and one of them is a woman named Jody Williams. Jody is a Nobel Peace Prize winner who won the award for her work in helping ban landmines around the world.

Jody is friends with extraordinary visionaries on the planet, including His Holiness, the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. One day, when I was having lunch with Jody, I asked her, “Do you ever feel intimidated when you’re with any of the world-renowned leaders and visionaries that you meet?”

Jody answered, “No, I’m just myself, wherever I am. And if people like me, they like me. And if they don’t like me, they don’t like me.” Jody is at home within herself and wherever she is, she is comfortable.

The experience of being so comfortable in your own skin is available for all of us.

Dr. Sue is a great example of someone who feels this way too. Here’s what Dr. Sue shares about this:

About 20 years ago, I had an amazing opening in my consciousness that started me on a totally different path in my life. I awakened to this really high state of consciousness and I was me, but I wasn’t in a body and I was also completely at home.

Through this experience, I was no longer able to reference life the way that I used to, because clearly things were very different than I had ever thought they were. And yet, there was a deep sense of wellbeing and a complete sense of fulfillment. There was nowhere to go, nothing to accomplish, and nothing to become. There was nothing broken, nothing wrong, and nothing to be fixed.

The true state of all of us is the vibrational frequency of peace.

Since that experience, I’ve recognized that I am this eternal presence–and so are you and everyone on the planet. The more we identify as that presence, the more comfortable we become in life, no matter where we are and no matter what’s happening,

Underneath the limited personality that struggles to make things unfold in a certain way, there’s another version of ourselves that’s deep in our heart. The more we breathe low in our bellies, the more we can access that deeper sense of self.

By slowing our breath down, it slows the mind down too. And then the mind stops writing all those stories that make us so uncomfortable.

Home is literally where we are. The universe is within our bodies. It’s important to remember that all the time so we can share our deepest self with each other and live the life that we came here to live.

Here’s a practice for being at home wherever you are:

    1. First, think of a situation that you may not be particularly comfortable in. Maybe it’s a situation that intimidates you or that you feel afraid of in some way. Imagine what it would feel like to feel at home in that situation.
    2. Then, breathe deeply in your belly and anchor yourself in your own body. Know that you get to be home right here in your body.

Feeling at home is really part of living in the Miracles Zone.

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” ~ Siddhārtha Gautama

We’d love to hear your experiences of feeling at home wherever you are. Leave a comment below and share your experience of inviting in the feeling of “The world is my family and I am home wherever I am.”

  • How to Soften Anxiety and Reduce Stress

How to Soften Anxiety and Reduce Stress

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About How to Soften Anxiety and Reduce Stress

Many people are experiencing fear and anxiety about all the events happening in our world these days. So we’re going to share a method to soften anxiety and reduce stress so that you can live more fully and constantly in the Miracle Zone–the place of synchronicities and flow, where you’re creating the conditions of your life for the miraculous to occur.

In the midst of whatever is happening in the world, it’s important to stay grounded in the Miracle Zone and keep your energy strong and clear. Living in the Miracle Zone doesn’t mean that you’re not going to worry, or that there are never any worries in the world. It means that instead, you’re going to choose wellbeing, and choose to thrive and grow even in the midst of uncertainty.

We do this by staying in the present moment. Worry transports us into the future. Fear and worry are ways of consciously imagining something in the future that you don’t want to happen. So that’s not where we want to spend our time!

The current reality is this present moment. If you can embrace appreciation and gratitude in the present moment, this will always help you to let go and release fears about the future.

Staying in the present moment doesn’t mean that you’re denying or ignoring any kind of feelings about the future, including anxiousness. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It means that you’re coming present to what it is that you’re feeling. When you’re present to what’s real for you, you develop a sense of clarity, certainty, and groundedness that wasn’t there just a moment before.

And in that presence, you’ll find that there’s a sense of wellbeing that exists underneath what your mind is saying. It exists underneath all of the stories it’s writing and all of the bombardment that we’re getting from the outer world, especially during these times. All of it can fade away and you can recognize a version of who you are that is actually okay.

Once we acknowledge any feeling that we’re feeling, it starts to dissolve inside of this present moment. So we’re trading worrying about the future for this wonderful peace of mind that is found in this present moment now.

Here’s a practice for softening anxiety, reducing stress, and living more in the present moment:

Gently close your eyes, and take a breath into your belly and exhale. Take a deep breath in again and exhale. Bring all of your attention into your deep core, where your belly button is and just behind it and below it–right in there. And let go of the outer layers of your skin. The outer surface of your energy field–just let it soften–let it drop into the center of your brain, into your heart, and into this place deep in your core in your belly area and just be right there.

There’s nothing else to think about or to do, but to just focus there. Notice that there’s a calmness that comes upon you. And if it does not feel calm yet, drop in a little deeper with your focused attention. Breathe a little bit so that you can feel where you’re living from, down in the belly. Drop all of your attention to your belly and relax in the belly. Then breathe, inhaling and exhaling, inhaling and exhaling, and notice that there’s a stillness in here.

You can open your eyes slowly, but stay focused in this deep belly space. Stay present while keeping your eyes open. There’s the same sensation on the inside, but now you’re able to be present on the outside, keeping one part of your attention in this inner still presence. With another part of your attention, look around the room with the stillness and presence of being. You can engage in the outer world and be aware of what’s happening in this now moment while not leaving your awareness on the inside.

There’s a miraculous power in being present right here in this very moment. Because we’ve been habituated, it’s so easy to get anxious about the future and the things we can’t control. And it’s so vital to stay present for our own health and wellbeing.

We invite you to do this practice a few times over the next few weeks and see how different you feel in your life.

“I am present and aware of this moment. It is full and it is great.” – Sega Belkis

We’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment below and tell us about your experience of anchoring in this present moment.

  • What Valentine’s Day Teaches Us About Self-Love

What Valentine’s Day Teaches Us About Self-Love

    [et_pb_section bb_built=”1″ admin_label=”section” _builder_version=”3.0.47″][et_pb_row admin_label=”row” _builder_version=”3.0.48″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.21.1″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” z_index_tablet=”500″]

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About What Valentine’s Day Teaches Us About Self-Love

You know Valentine’s Day is coming up because if you go into a drugstore, you see entire aisles filled with boxes of chocolate, pink and red fluffy pillows, teddy bears, and all sorts of advertisements that give ideas of what this day should be like.

It’s wonderful to have a day dedicated to celebrating love. The challenge can come if it creates certain expectations in our minds about what love should look like.

Should our lovability be measured by whether we have a partner or by how many boxes of chocolate we receive or how many Valentine’s cards we got? Definitely not.

If we aren’t showered with the affection that we’re hoping for or expecting on Valentine’s Day, we can end up feeling disappointed, believing that we aren’t as loved as we want to be.

Or, if we’re not in a primary relationship, it can be easy to create a story about our lovability, especially if we compare ourselves to the images we see everywhere in the media and social media.

So our first invitation for you on Valentine’s Day is to drop the expectations on others to shower you with the love that you are.

Because your core essence IS love!

Our next invitation is that you treat yourself the way you’d like someone else to treat you on Valentine’s Day.

What if we gave ourselves the same level of love, attention, and affection that we hope or expect to receive from someone else? Well, the same thing that happens when someone treats you wonderfully — your heart opens, you feel relaxed, you feel happy. This is a gift we can give ourselves.

We can do this in simple ways… Be your own Valentine.

Do for yourself what you’d want to have for Valentine’s day. That could be having a nice meal or getting yourself some flowers. Write yourself a love letter or Valentine’s card. Tell yourself everything that you love and appreciate about yourself. I know this might seem a bit uncomfortable — we’re not used to this — but just try it out and see how you feel. You’re worthy of receiving that kind of loving care and attention.

This is a powerful way of showing ourselves how worthy we are. When we act in these loving ways towards ourselves, we naturally build up love for ourselves. And when we spend time nourishing ourselves, we start to believe how worthy and valuable we are — unconditionally.

And then, make sure that you do it!

We want to leave you with this quote from Oscar Wilde:

“To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.”

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

We’d love to hear your comments about how you’re going to shower yourself with love this Valentine’s Day, so please leave them below…

  • Owning Your Power to Choose

    Owning Your Power to Choose

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About Owning Your Power to Choose…

We have the privilege of working with lots of people all over the world, and what we’ve noticed is that many people are stuck in a pattern of giving away their power to choose.

Do you ever find yourself in that pattern? For example, if someone asks you “What would you like to do?” do you respond with, “I don’t care, it’s completely up to you. You decide where we go and what we do.” When you respond in this way, you are giving away your power.

It may appear that allowing someone else to choose for you is selfless, giving, kind, and generous. Maybe you think (often subconsciously) that people will like or approve of you more, and it’ll be easier to get love. However, this is actually unhealthy as you are giving away your power to choose and putting it into someone else’s hands. When you let someone else choose for you, if things don’t work out well, you can end up blaming that person and feeling resentful of their decision. This is often referred to as codependent behavior. That is not living in the Miracle Zone.

Learning how to make choices that are in alignment with our highest good is what helps us live more in the Miracle Zone.

If you’re not confident or comfortable in your ability to make choices that are aligned with your highest good, the best way to get started is to practice making small choices that will have a smaller impact on your life. This practice will allow your subconscious to gain confidence in your ability to make wise choices.

If you avoid making choices, then you’re not exercising your free will. Your free will is what ignites your vital force. Your very ability to be here in a passionate living body is tied to your free will and animating the spiritual fire within.

If you don’t ever vote, if you don’t ever pick or voice your opinion and your preference, then you’re constantly snuffing out this fire in your belly. Your heart may start to weaken, and you may become depressed. You may become confused, lethargic or disoriented. You may even have a difficult time being satisfied with anything that happens. You can feel victimized, as though nothing is going your way, and feel there’s nothing you can do about it. That’s what results from not taking your opportunity to choose.

Exercising your personal power is especially vital now, at election time. Instead of giving your power away with inaction, claim your personal power by casting your political vote. Make your personal choice. This is a perfect time! We encourage everyone to claim the personal power of choice by casting your vote. Let’s rock the vote!

We encourage you to take back your power to choose (in all things).

This isn’t being selfish. This is about taking care of yourself, and in doing so, you are claiming your personal power of authenticity. This helps to empower your life in healthy ways.

Over the next several days, start casting your vote and expressing your opinion more. By doing so, you’re telling the Universe—I’m in. I mean business and I’m here to play in a big way. The Universe has no choice but to respond to you. That’s what it means to live in the Miracle Zone.

    Happy choosing!

We invite you to share your experiences of owning your power to choose in the comments section below. We love hearing from you!

  • The Miraculous Power of Trust

    The Miraculous Power of Trust

Today’s Miracle Moment is about the Miraculous Power of Trust…

Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a place of complete peace, a place where you profoundly trust that you’re being taken care of by a Universal power? Where you trust that this Universal power is with you every moment? Where you live with the certainty that the Universe is really out to support you, that it’s on your side, that it’s got your back?

We know that this can feel hard to believe on any given day. Right now with COVID-19 cases back on the rise and a polarizing presidential election coming up in the U.S. there’s certainly a lot going on in the world…And in this moment, believing the Universe has your back can feel like a REALLY BIG stretch.

But, for just a few minutes, let’s suspend any resistance and lean into a place of trust. We often try so hard to control everything in our lives that we forget the power of putting our faith in the Universe and just letting go.

However, once you get into the habit of doing all that you can from your humanness and trusting when you get that intuitive message that it’s time to let go and surrender to a Higher Power; and you actually do it, you’ll begin experiencing a deep sense of peace and wellbeing.

Throughout history, the wisest men and women have known that their highest good came from trusting and letting go, from surrendering. We don’t mean the kind of surrender that is “losing a battle” kind of surrender, not the “white flag” kind of surrender, but the kind that is letting go of personal limitations and aligning totally with an intelligence and an energy that’s greater than ourselves.

It’s the energy of Let Thy Will Be Done.

If you can surrender your resistance, you’ll be able to tap into a higher wisdom. Instead of saying “no” and resisting everything that’s happening, simply say “yes” to the guidance of spirit.

Here’s a practice that we invite you to try…

It’s about asking for guidance from the Universe and being led by your soul throughout the day. It comes from a teaching in A Course In Miracles.

    Here’s what you do…

At the beginning of your day, simply ask three questions…

What would Spirit have me do today?
Where would Spirit have me go today?
What would Spirit have me say, and to whom?

Then, as you move through your day, listen to your inspiration from Spirit and say “yes” to whatever those answers are…trusting life’s unfolding.

If you get stuck, ask the question again. When you move through the day like this, when you trust that Spirit is guiding you and has your back, you’re going to find yourself living more and more in the Miracle Zone.

Please share your experiences of trusting in the universe in the comments below.

  • The Sweetness of Doing Nothing

    The Sweetness of Doing Nothing

Today’s Miracle Moment is about the sweetness of doing nothing at all.

This Miracle Moment is a little bit different than most. I (Marci) am coming to you from a hammock — my first time ever giving a Miracle Moment from a hammock! I’m on my third day of a wilderness backpacking trip, and I’ve had a chance to just relax and do nothing (other than hike). What a nice change of pace!

It’s in this spirit that today’s Miracle Moment is about the sweetness of doing nothing at all.

There is so much power in doing nothing, but it’s all too often overlooked.

My partner Sergio, who’s originally from Italy, taught me this beautiful Italian phrase, dolce far niente. It literally means, sweet do nothing, and it’s a celebration of relaxing.

Celebrating “doing nothing” is quite different from how I normally live. I was raised to work hard and be productive. In my family, DOING was considered the ultimate value. My family applauded striving and accomplishing. My efforts and performance were rewarded and celebrated, so it’s only natural I grew up to become a “do-er.”

Maybe you, too, are a do-er and are in the habit of staying busy to feel worthy. While being purposefully busy is great, there’s also enormous value in the sweetness of doing nothing. It’s easy to become addicted to the productive feeling of continual action. In fact, the chemical dopamine is released in our brain when we accomplish things, and it feels good. We can get addicted to that busy feeling and stuck in a cycle of striving.

The downside of all this “doing” is that too easily lose touch with our “being.” Being stuck in busy-ness doesn’t leave us time to connect with our innate essence or to appreciate who we are deeply inside beyond we do. We can miss some of the sweetest parts of life and of ourselves. And when our actions are infused with our beingness, they’re even more powerful. Slowing down allows us greater insight, presence, and connection.

    An Invitation to You…

This week I’m inviting you to do a simple 5-10 minute practice of doing nothing. Tune in to whatever you may experience.

    1. On the first day, you’ll sit for five minutes and do nothing while keeping your eyes open.
    2. Sit and BE and notice whatever comes up.
    3. Notice if there’s discomfort or pain in the body or impatience. If so, just be with that feeling. Feel the feeling without taking action or judging it. Give it the spaciousness to just be.
    4. Each day this week, embark on this practice of doing nothing, adding a minute to your practice until you reach ten minutes. Notice what shifts in your life.

I think you’ll find that this practice of just doing nothing will infuse your actions with much more awareness, sweetness, and consciousness.

We invite you to share with us your experience of doing nothing in the comments below. What does this shift in your life? We want to know!

I send you my love and wish you the great sweetness of doing nothing, dolce far niente.

“Sometimes the most important thing to do is to do nothing.”
    ― Debasish Mridha

Please share your experiences of the practice of doing nothing below. We’d love to hear from you.

  • Stretching Outside of Your Comfort Zone

Stretching Outside of Your Comfort Zone

Today’s Miracle Moment is about stretching outside of your comfort zone so you can live more fully in the Miracle Zone.

I (Marci) am coming to you from beautiful Island Lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. Now, let me tell you, getting here was certainly a stretch outside of my comfort zone.

It’s not that being in nature is a stretch for me because I’ve always loved nature. I grew up as a girl scout, and we’d camp every summer. However, in my 62 years of life, I’d never backpacked into a remote area. So, when my partner, Sergio, suggested we do a  backpacking trip, all kinds of objections, resistance and fears came up.

My mind started having a little anxiety party… Was I going to be able to handle the weight of the heavy backpack? Was it going to be too hard for me to hike in? Were we going to be so remote that there wouldn’t be anybody around if we needed help? Would we encounter bears?

While I almost said no to the trip, I realized I didn’t want to spend any more time in resistance. Fears can block progress by keeping us stuck in our comfort zone, and I wanted to move beyond that.

One of the principles that Dr. Sue Morter and I teach in the Your Year of Miracles program, which is about how to live in the Miracle Zone, is to choose where you put your energy and attention.

Initially I had put my focus on all the possible problems. Fortunately, I was able to catch myself and shift my attention partway through my thought process. It’s not that my fear disappeared–I still felt the fears, but I decided to go anyway and just put my attention on what I wanted to experience.

I told myself, “Okay, I’m going to do this. I can do this even though it’s a stretch for me, and it’ll be a fabulous experience.”  Making this choice landed me in the most magical, phenomenal place that was nourishing to my soul.  That would not have happened had I not shifted my attention and stretched beyond my comfort zone!

    An Invitation to You…

This week I invite you to find something that would stretch you outside of your comfort zone. It might not be physical. Maybe it’s about your finances or perhaps it’s some kind of social stretch like putting together a Zoom party with friends or family.

Moving beyond your comfort zone will build your inner strength and create more possibilities in your life. You’ll experience living more in the Miracle Zone.

So, select a stretch that’s right for you, and share that in the comments below. Let’s join together and cheer each other on in choosing where we put our energy and attention so we can stretch beyond our comfort zone. Then, celebrate yourself when you’ve actually done that stretch.

I send you my love and my great wishes in moving beyond your comfort zone to live in the Miracle Zone.

“Real change is difficult at the beginning, but gorgeous at the end. Change begins the moment you get the courage and step outside your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

    Roy T. Bennett

Please share your experiences of stretching outside of your comfort zone below. We’d love to hear from you.

  • Is It Really Fear?

    Is It Really Fear?

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About…Is It Really Fear?

Fear is such a big topic! Nelson Mandela once said, “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.” Today we want to look at how we can live in a way that fear doesn’t run our lives.

I (Marci) grew up with a lot of fears! Knowing that, my parents introduced me to things early on so that I would not be too afraid to do them later in life. I remember my Dad taking me skiing when I was a little kid because he knew that if I didn’t learn how to ski when I was little, then I would never learn.

I (Dr. Sue) grew up sleeping on the floor of my closet because by being on the floor of my closet, there was only one direction I had to look. I knew I was surrounded by the other three walls…that’s being pretty terrified. As a kid, I didn’t want to be seen. I didn’t want to be heard. I would peek out from behind my mother’s leg or her skirt. That’s how I appear in most family photos. As I grew up, it didn’t get much better. I had to push myself to get out there and do things.

Now, we both realize that something entirely different is going on around fear.

When we’re two or three years old, we start developing enough independence that we want to move away from our mother’s skirt and start to explore the other kids who are playing, or we want to explore the bright, shiny things that are over there. And in the midst of doing so, inevitably we get in trouble.

We’re told, “Don’t cross the street. There are cars,” and other similar messages. Right in the middle of exploring our independence, we get in trouble, and it shuts down an important part of our own adventurous development.

And, that happens in our solar plexus, the place of our personal power. It gets shut down in that moment.

When the solar plexus is trying to come back online, it starts to shake. So, when we start to have a thought, idea, or opportunity that’s going to take us out of our comfort zone, that same part of our personal power is saying, “Yes, I’m about to be born. I get to come out.” But in doing so, it starts to shake and quiver. We’ve associated that quiver with fear, and we shut down and we try to move away from the situation. However, if we would actually just let it come out, it starts to birth and unfold in an entirely different way.

So, now, when you start to feel any shaking or quivering, breathe into it and stretch it open and give it a place to birth itself because that’s your power. That will dissolve the idea that you’re actually afraid when you might just be activating some part of your wholeness.

So, is it really fear or is it something inside of you that’s ready to be birthed and it’s just coming out in this way?

Over the next week or two, we invite you to explore and experience…

    “Is this fear?

Or, is this really something that’s saying…

“Let me come out. Let me come forward.”

Breathe into that and let us know how it goes. We invite you to share your experiences in the comments section below.
    We’ll end with a quote from Hafiz…

“Fear is the cheapest room in the house.
I would like to see you living in better conditions.”

Living in better conditions…that’s living in the Miracle Zone! We love living in the Miracle Zone with you!

Please share your experiences of breathing into your fear and asking if it’s really fear or your personal power wanting to come out. We’d love to hear from you.

  • The Power of the Seventh Chakra

The Power of the Seventh Chakra

Today’s Miracle Moment is about the seventh chakra or energy center, which is about our connection to the oneness of life.

We all crave connection, and today’s Miracle Moment is about the most powerful connection of all– to the oneness of life. Opening the seventh chakra can help you tap into this blissful connection. Our seventh chakra, located at the top of the head, is referred to as the crown chakra, and it’s the energy center for connecting to our divinity, to spirit and to oneness. It creates a feeling of unity in life, a feeling of connection with all of life. From our experience, when this seventh Chakra opens, life feels more magical–it’s what we call “living in the Miracle Zone.”

Today we’ll share a practice to help open the crown chakra and your connection to divinity. Truly, it’s who you are. You’re a divine being manifest here on this planet in human form. So, you’re not a human being–you’re just being human. You’re actually made of these divine energies that you can tap into and access.

To tap into the divine energy, we share this practice to open the crown chakra. . .

    • Imagine a funnel
Imagine that you have a giant funnel sticking out of the top of your head that goes out to the planets above you, to the sun and the moon and the whole Milky Way. This funnel goes to the constellations and other galaxies far beyond; it goes into stardust and makes its way out to the unmanifest world. When you imagine and create an energetic funnel, it becomes a channel for pure connection.
    • Breathe from and into the Crown Chakra
Now, you can keep that connection alive by specific breathing practice.  Pick a spot about two inches beneath the surface of your skull and then pick another spot two inches above your head. Inhale from the spot two inches above your head and exhale from the spot two inches beneath the surface of your skull — about the center of your brain. Then inhale from the center of the brain and exhale right back out to two inches above your head. Pretend that you’re a whale blowing out the blow hole. Exhale like a whale would, with power, right up through the crown of your head. Next inhale as if you’re just breathing right in through the soft spot when you were a baby, right into the center of your brain. Then exhale right back out.
    • Expand and connect
As you start to practice this center of the brain breathing, expand it further.  Breathe further above the head. Start to incorporate the funnel you created to breathe in the planets, the constellations, and the cosmos. Breath it all right back down into the body. That’s how we start to open this gateway and allow these energies to integrate so instead of feeling like a separate self, we feel connected.

Do this practice regularly and you’ll probably start to feel like a different person (or more of who you really are). You can also go back and review the other Miracle Moments practices we’ve shared and do those as well.  This energy work connects you to the truth of who you are.

In the work that I (Marci) did interviewing people about happiness, the most consistent quality I found amongst unconditionally happy people is a feeling of connection to the greater energy of the universe. This seventh Chakra practice is a brilliant way to help us feel more connected to the divinity of who we truly are. So, start this practice right away and then share with us what’s opening for you either on our Facebook page and in the comments section below.

Many people comment about feeling a lightness or tingling in the head while doing this practice. Did you have a similar experience? Or what sensations or openings did you feel?

We’ll end today with a beautiful quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“We live in succession, in division, in parts, in particles. Meantime within man is the soul of the whole; the wise silence; the universal beauty, to which every part and particle is equally related; the eternal ONE.”

Let us open to the truth of our eternal oneness, and as we do, may we live more fully in the Miracle Zone!
