Today’s Miracle Moment Is About What If This IS the Answer?
Have you ever asked the Universe for clarity—only to feel more confused than ever?
Or prayed for healing… and suddenly everything got messier?
Maybe you opened your heart for a breakthrough, but nothing seemed to shift.
It’s easy to wonder: Is anyone even listening?
But here’s the reframe:
What if what feels like a delay is actually the delivery?
The Answers We Don’t Recognize
We expect our prayers to be answered with trumpets, spotlights, and instant clarity. But more often than not, the answer shows up disguised—as a closed door, an unexpected detour, or even a disappointment.
The challenge? We’re usually searching for our version of the miracle—what we think it should look like. But the Universe often has far greater plans than we can imagine.
I’ve seen this play out in my own life, more than once.
My Story: How a Job I Didn’t Want Became Preparation for My Calling
Back in the late 80s, I was chasing my dream of becoming an inspirational speaker. My plan was to start out as a corporate trainer for a Fortune 500 company, gain experience, and then move into motivational speaking.
So I searched for months for the right training job. Nothing came through. Finally, I got one offer… but it was to teach business writing.
Here’s the problem: I hated writing.
A mentor at the company encouraged me to take their five-day writing course before turning down the role. I reluctantly agreed. By the end of that week, I had a revelation:
Writing wasn’t what I thought. It wasn’t about rules and red pens—it was about expressing how you feel. Suddenly, I saw I could do it.
I took the job. And for seven years, I taught business writing.
Was it my dream job? No. Did I want to talk about grammar and commas for the rest of my life? Definitely not.
But here’s what I couldn’t see at the time: those years gave me skills I’d one day need to write and edit books. Later, when the idea for Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul came along, I had the foundation to bring it to life.
That detour was actually divine preparation.
The Miracle Might Not Look Like the Finish Line
We often miss the miracles happening in the present because they don’t look like the big breakthrough we’ve been waiting for. Instead, they show up disguised as:
-
Disappointments
-
Breakdowns
-
Wrong turns
But what feels like a wrong turn might be guiding you exactly where you need to go.
Trusting the Process, Even Without the Full Picture
Here’s what I believe: we live in a benevolent Universe where divine perfection is always at work.
When I set an intention or say a prayer, I always add the phrase:
“This or something better.”
Why? Because I’m not the general manager of the Universe. I don’t know the best way things are meant to unfold. That little phrase leaves space for something greater to come through.
So instead of doubting, we can trust:
-
That our prayers are always heard.
-
That the Universe is aligning circumstances behind the scenes.
-
That even when it doesn’t make sense, there is meaning.
And while we wait for the bigger picture, our job is to show up fully, with gratitude, excellence, and heart—right where we are.
When you don’t see the full picture, trust the painter.
Your Miracle in Disguise
So today, whatever feels wrong, backwards, or broken, ask yourself:
-
What if this is the answer?
-
What if this is the redirection I prayed for?
-
What if this is the miracle in disguise?
You don’t need to figure it all out today. You just need to stay open long enough to let the answer reveal itself—and trust that the Universe never forgets your prayers.
Sometimes, the miracle comes dressed as a detour.
