Today’s Miracle Moment Is About Leading With An Open Heart: A Simple Practice That Invites More Miracles Into Your Day…
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to close your heart after you’ve been hurt?
Maybe someone disappointed you. Maybe life didn’t unfold the way you hoped. Or maybe you simply felt overwhelmed, tired, or unsure of who to trust.
When that happens, it’s natural to put up protective walls. We tighten, brace ourselves, and try to guard against future pain.
And yet, here’s something I’ve discovered after decades of studying happiness, success, and what it really takes to live in the Miracle Zone:
The more open your heart is, the more life can flow to you.
Not because challenges disappear or because everything suddenly goes your way. But because an open heart allows you to move through life with resilience, connection, and trust.
And that’s where miracles begin to show up.
Why an Open Heart Changes Everything
When I think of the people I know who are truly thriving—people who seem to experience meaningful relationships, joyful opportunities, and beautiful synchronicities—there’s one thing they all have in common:
They lead with an open heart.
That doesn’t mean they’ve had perfect lives or that they’ve never been hurt.
It means they’ve chosen not to let their pain close them off from love, kindness, and possibility.
Your heart is like a doorway. When it’s closed, life feels heavy. You may feel disconnected, defensive, or alone.
But when it’s open, something shifts. You can become:
- More available to connection
- More receptive to support
- More willing to see the good in others and in yourself
And from that place, opportunities begin to appear. Relationships deepen. Synchronicities find you.
A Powerful Question That Can Transform Your Day
I once heard a beautiful story from world-renowned conductor Benjamin Zander, and it completely changed the way I think about success.
As a conductor, Benjamin realized something profound….He wasn’t the one making the music. That was his orchestra. His true role was to awaken possibility in other people.
So he created a simple way to measure whether he was doing his job well. Instead of focusing on performance reviews or applause, he asked himself one question:
“How many shining eyes are around me?”
When he looked out at the audience and saw people leaning forward, engaged, inspired, and alive, he knew he had made an impact.
Eventually, he began using that question in every area of his life: at home, with friends and in everyday situations.
How many shining eyes are around me?
It’s such a simple question and yet it’s incredibly powerful!
Because it shifts your focus from achievement…to connection.
From control…to contribution.
From fear…to love.
The Simple Practice: Project Friendliness
Now, let me share a practical exercise you can use starting today. It comes from spiritual teacher Francis Lucille, and it’s beautifully simple.
He suggests that you consciously project friendliness into your environment.
That means seeing the world around you as welcoming, supportive, and filled with goodwill.
You can try this right now.
Step 1: Notice What Happens When You Expect Judgment
Take a moment and imagine that everything around you is critical or unfriendly.
Imagine the air, the room, or the people nearby judging you or rejecting you.
Notice how your body responds.
Do your shoulders tense?
Does your breathing become shallow?
Do you feel the need to protect yourself?
Most people do.
Step 2: Shift to Expecting Friendliness
Next let that image go. Instead, imagine that everything around you is supportive and kind. Picture the air, the room, and the people around you welcoming you—seeing the best in you and accepting you exactly as you are.
Notice what changes.
Your body may relax.
Your breath may deepen.
You may feel a little safer, a little lighter, a little more open.
That shift is the beginning of an open heart.
Why This Practice Works
Most of the time, we’re not consciously aware of what we’re projecting into the world. But our expectations shape our experience.
If you walk into a room expecting rejection, you may close yourself off without realizing it. If you walk into that same room expecting connection, you’re more likely to smile, listen, and engage. And people respond to that energy.
An open heart is incredibly magnetic!
It invites cooperation, builds trust, and truly has the power to create opportunities.
And over time, it changes the trajectory of your relationships and your results.
A Gentle Invitation for This Week
Here’s a simple intention you can carry with you over the next few days: Lead with an open heart.
Practice compassion.
Offer kindness.
Extend forgiveness.
Express gratitude.
And as you move through your day, ask yourself: “How many shining eyes are around me?”
You may be surprised by how quickly your interactions shift—and how naturally new possibilities begin to appear.
Because when your heart is open, life has a way of meeting you there. Miracles flow more easily. Synchronicities find you. The right people show up at the right time.
And you begin to feel something many people long for: That life is truly working in your favor.
‘ll end with a quote from Rabindranath Tagore:
“Love is the ultimate meaning of everything around us. Love is not a mere sentiment. Love is the ultimate truth at the heart of creation.“
