Today’s Miracle Moment Is About Messages From the Other Side

Have you ever been thinking about someone you’ve lost… and suddenly, a song starts playing? Or you notice a feather drifting down from the sky? Or catch a whiff of a scent you haven’t smelled in years?

You pause and wonder—was that just a coincidence… or something more?

Today, I want to talk about something that might sound mysterious—but for many of us, it’s deeply personal: Messages from the other side.

I’m not sharing this as a psychic or a medium, but as someone who’s seen—time and time again—that love doesn’t end with the last breath.

What Do Signs From the Other Side Look Like?

People all over the world, from every walk of life and belief system, have shared similar stories after losing someone they love:

  • Spotting butterflies, cardinals, feathers, or coins at just the right moment

  • Hearing a meaningful song during a time of grief or uncertainty

  • Feeling a loving presence in moments when comfort is needed most

I believe we’re in a beautiful dance with the universe. And that dance includes a silent language of symbols, signs, and synchronicities.

When people cross over, they don’t stop loving us. That love continues—and sometimes, it sends us messages. Not to haunt us. But to heal us. To remind us:
You are loved.
You are not alone.
I’m still with you.

You Don’t Have to Be a Medium to Receive Signs

You don’t have to be a trained psychic to feel your mom in the kitchen when you cook her favorite recipe.

You don’t have to be a professional channel to sense your best friend nearby when you see their favorite flower bloom unexpectedly.

The love that once connected you didn’t disappear. It changed form.

And that love can whisper through the world around you—if you’re open to hearing it.

Real-Life Stories That Will Make You a Believer

When I was working on the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, I was stunned by the number of stories people sent in about asking for signs from loved ones who had passed.

There were so many stories about bluebirds and cardinals that my co-authors and I had to create an entire filing cabinet just for what we called the “Bluebird/Cardinal Stories.” It blew me away—and opened my eyes to the power of asking for and receiving signs.

And I’ve had my own powerful moments, too. One happened when my sister and I were staying in a hotel for my mom’s funeral. We were sitting around talking about our mom and out of nowhere, the lights flickered on by themselves.

A couple of weeks later, I was at a hot springs resort. In the middle of the night—at 3:33 am, which was the time my dad died—the alarm suddenly went off. (The same exact thing had happened to me before back home!)

The next morning, as I sat outside our cabin having breakfast, a bright bluebird landed on our table. It didn’t move. It just sat there, almost like it was watching over us.

I’ve also heard beautiful stories from others. A dear friend received a sign from his mother through dolphins. Another time, it was owls. These stories are everywhere when you start to listen.

3 Ways to Recognize a Sign from the Other Side

If you’ve ever wondered, “How do I know if something is really a sign?”—here are three things to look for:

1. It’s timely.

The sign shows up just when you need it. You’re thinking about someone you miss, or you’re asking for reassurance—and boom, there it is. A whisper from beyond that says: “I hear you.”

2. It feels personal.

Maybe it’s a song only the two of you loved. Maybe it’s an animal that always reminded you of them. To anyone else, it might seem random. But to you, it carries unmistakable meaning.

3. It brings peace—not fear.

Love doesn’t speak in fear. It shows up in ways that bring comfort, clarity, warmth, or deep knowing. That’s how you know it’s a true message—from love, not ego.

Haven’t Noticed Any Signs? You Can Start Asking

If you’re thinking, “I’ve never received a sign,” don’t worry. You can start right now.

Some of my favorite times to ask for a sign are first thing in the morning or right before bed—those liminal times when the veil is thinnest.

Here’s a simple practice:

  • Place your hand on your heart.

  • Get still and quiet.

  • Connect with the feeling of love—not fear.

  • Say something like, “If you’re near, send me a sign. Send me a wink.”

  • Then go about your day—not searching, but staying open.

Often, the sign will come when you least expect it.

Final Thoughts: Love Doesn’t Die—It Expands

I don’t believe the soul disappears.
I believe it expands.

And I believe that love—the real kind—doesn’t get stuck in one lifetime. It knows how to find you, even across realms.

So the next time something small feels suddenly meaningful—a flicker of light, a wisp of music, a bird that lingers—pause and consider:

Maybe it’s not a coincidence.
Maybe… it’s connection.

Stay open. Stay curious.
And keep listening for love.

Please share your signs you’ve experienced in your life.
