The Surprising Power of Doing Less

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About The Surprising Power of Doing Less

Sometimes, the real breakthrough doesn’t come from doing more — it comes from doing less… and listening. Forcing your way to happiness and miracles doesn’t work. It depletes you, it disconnects you, and it drowns out the quiet wisdom trying to reach you.

Here’s an example of what I mean: You know those aha moments that seem to drop in from out of the blue? Or that great idea that comes to you when you’re taking a shower? That’s the power of the pause!

Epiphanies don’t usually arrive when you’re pushing or striving. They arrive when you stop and take a break.

Think about it: when do your best insights come? Not mid-scroll, mid-meeting, or mid-meltdown. They come when you’re walking quietly. Or sitting in stillness. Or just breathing. Or when you’re focusing on anything other than the problem you’re trying to solve. Here’s how this showed up in my life…

When I was 13, I went to see Zig Ziglar, an inspirational speaker, and I had a very clear vision that that was what I was supposed to do with my life.  I had a clear vision, saw myself traveling around the world speaking to large audiences inspiring people. But when I started my career, I struggled with so much self doubt and low self-esteem.

In 1989, I got trained by Jack Canfield – this was before he’d even thought of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books yet. He was teaching about self-esteem. I wanted to start teaching programs like that because as they say, we teach what we most want to learn.

So I started teaching workshops on self-esteem. I worked really, really hard to build my career. For years, I was a road warrior – going from city to city every day and giving talks to anywhere between 20 and maybe 100 people a day. It certainly wasn’t the big audiences I’d seen in my vision.

I was struggling and exhausted. I knew I was doing the right kind of work, but I felt like I was hitting my head against the wall to make it happen. Well in January 1995, a dear friend of mine came to me and said, “Marci, you’re  burned out. You need a break. Come with me on a seven day silent meditation retreat.”

I said, “You’re crazy. I don’t do silence. I haven’t been silent for more than two hours in my life!” But she was very, very persuasive, so off I went.

I’ll tell you, the first couple days of silence were absolute torture. But finally I settled in and really started letting go of that pushing, driving energy that I’d lived in. I really surrendered to the pause. And on the fourth day, in the middle of a meditation, out of nowhere, a light bulb went off in my head.

I saw the words Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul. And now, at the time, there were no other books out there other than the original Chicken Soup for the Soul book. And I knew that that was exactly what I was supposed to do, and it was what was going to lead me to bigger and bigger audiences.

There was one problem – I had just had this huge epiphany and I still had 3 more days of silence. When the retreat was over, I ran to the closest payphone – we didn’t have cell phones then and called up Jack and told him my idea. He said, “Oh my God, I can’t believe nobody’s thought of it!” He called up the publisher, and the publisher said, “I can’t believe nobody’s thought of it!”

I started working on the book and year and a half later, Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul came out and went to #1 on the New York Times bestseller list that first week. And it was the thing that propelled me to that vision that I had of speaking to large audiences around the world.

Since then I’ve written 9 books that have been on the New York Times bestseller list for 121 weeks and have sold more than 16 million copies. I could never have planned that.

So that’s how powerful that pause was for me. The idea that brought me to greater purpose and success, came in the pause, not in the push.

Here are 3 key shifts to lean into the power of the pause:

    #1: Rest Is Not Laziness

Somewhere along the way, we were taught that if you’re rest, you’re lazy. Especially as women, we often feel guilty for pausing. There’s always someone or something that we need to take care of – whether it’s a partner, children, parents, community, or a business. And taking care of ourselves usually ends up last on the list.

But rest isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity for living a miraculous life. All of nature has cycles of rest and action. Our bodies, minds and souls need the rejuvenation that comes from rest.

I used to feel so guilty taking breaks. At one point, I was overworking so much that an Ayurvedic doctor said to me: “you’re burned out and you have to stop right now.” I said – “I don’t have time to stop. I’ll rest in a couple of years once I get through all of this work” and he said – “no, it will be too late by then. You’ll lose too much of your body’s prana – your vital energy and life force. You must take care of yourself now.” Well, that really freaked me out and so I stopped and started to do what he was telling me to do in terms of rest. I made the quality AND quantity of my sleep a priority, and every night I get to sleep by 10pm – I call it catching the angel train. And I found that I not only started to feel more energized during the day, but I was happier, and I even started getting more done.

I finally learned that rest is not selfish – it’s sacred. And it’s where our best self can return.

    #2: Sacred Space Creates Clarity

Have you ever had a big decision to make, and the more you went over it in your mind, the more you got stuck in your head trying to figure out what to do?

Often, the answer won’t come from “trying to figure it out.” But when you allow quiet space in your day, you’re opening a doorway for something higher to reach you. That’s when the idea comes. The answer arrives. The clarity lands.

Not because you forced it, but because you made room for it.

And there’s some science to this – When our focus softens, the brain shifts into the default mode network—and that’s where creativity, memory, and insight converge. In the quiet beyond effort, the mind connects what pushing and forcing can’t, and that’s when clarity and inspired ideas can arise.

This was what happened for me at the silent meditation retreat. As the constant stream of thoughts and mental clutter cleared out, it created sacred space for clarity.

But you don’t have to go away for 7 days to create sacred space for yourself. Even 5 minutes a day spent in silence can help you access greater clarity.

#3: When You Do Less, You Feel More

When you pause the doing, you reconnect with the being. You feel more. You notice more. You become present again. And that presence is where peace lives.

And when you stop racing through your life, you can finally experience it.

My partner Sergio, who’s originally from Italy, taught me this beautiful Italian phrase, “dolce far niente.” It literally means, “sweet do nothing,” and it’s a celebration of relaxing. Being stuck in busy-ness doesn’t leave us time to connect with our innate essence or to appreciate who we are deeply inside, beyond what we do. We can miss some of the sweetest parts of life and of ourselves.

By doing less, you leave time to feel more of the yumminess of life – and more of what you’re truly here for.

So this week, give yourself permission to stop forcing and start allowing.

You don’t need to earn your rest. You don’t need to justify your pause. Because the happiness you’re chasing? It’s already within you. It’s just been waiting for the noise to quiet down.

I’ll end with this great quote from Anne Lamott:

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”

Let me know in the comments: What would it look like for you to rest without guilt this week?

Your next epiphany isn’t in the push. It’s in the pause.

Please share your answer below, “What would it look like for me to rest without guilt this week?”

  • The Shift From Burden to Devotion

The Shift From Burden to Devotion

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About The Shift From Burden to Devotion

How often do you feel like you’re holding it all together — for everyone? You show up. You keep your promises. You check off your daily list, your tasks. And somewhere along the way, ‘responsibility’ started feeling like a prison sentence.  But what if we’ve misunderstood what responsibility really is?

What if it’s not a burden to bear — but a devotion to offer?

This one shift changes everything. Responsibility says: ‘I have to.’ Devotion says: ‘I get to.’ Responsibility drains when it’s rooted in obligation. But devotion uplifts when it’s rooted in love. When you show up from devotion — not duty — you reconnect with purpose. Instead of running yourself dry, giving comes from a deeper well within – a well of contribution, service and love. Another way to reframe responsibility is to think of it as our ability to respond, and that’s where our power lies. We get to choose how we show up and how we share our gifts.  And the tasks that once felt heavy become sacred. Even holy.

Here are 3 ways to make the life-changing shift from burden to devotion…

This first shift is Moving from Obligation to Offering.

Instead of asking “What do I have to do today?” you can start your day by asking yourself the first three questions, which are adapted from A Course in Miracles:

    • What would Spirit have me do?
    • Where would Spirit have me go?
    • What would Spirit have me say, and to whom?

The answers that you receive are the offering that you give to Life.  The practice of connecting with these questions softens the heart and centers your energy. You’re not just performing roles — you’re making a sacred offering of your time, your care, your presence. For me, this shift gave me one of the greatest gifts of my life – and that was to be in devotion while caretaking for my parents as they got older. I ended up moving closer to my parents at the time when they needed more care, and because I was the closest sibling, I became the primary person to be there daily and to take them to appointments and check in on them. At first, it felt like a lot of responsibility, but it really shifted to feel like such a blessing that I was able to give them care and give back to them. I did my best to bring joy to their lives and those times with them were some of the richest experiences of my life.

The second shift is to Anchor into Purpose, Not Pressure.

Pressure says: ‘Get it all done.’ Purpose says: ‘Do what matters most.’  I know it’s really easy to get busy doing a lot of things. I call it the addiction to doing. But if you aren’t doing the right things, it won’t serve you. You’ll have put all this effort out just to end up on the wrong mountain. You want to make sure that you’re climbing the mountain that’s right for you. What will serve you the most is living in accordance with your priorities. And you’ll have different priorities at different times. There is a time for every season under heaven. When you know what it is the time for you to do, you can connect to the deeper purpose behind what you’re doing and disengage from the pressure. For example, years ago, writing my book was my focus, and for 3 or 4 months, and I had to let my partner know I couldn’t be as available in our relationship. But I knew it was the time to do that and the reward would be worth the sacrifice. At another point, my partner and I wanted to focus on strengthening our relationship, so we both made it more of a priority in our lives – by having dinner together, playing pickleball, and going on trips with each other.  You don’t have to do more to be more. The quality of your presence often outweighs the quantity of your output. When you connect with your why — your deep reason for showing up — the to-do list becomes a devotion list.

The third shift is to Let Leadership Become a Living Prayer.

Have you ever thought of yourself as a leader? You don’t need a stage or a title to lead. You lead in how you love. In how you listen. In how you hold space. When you share your gifts in the world from a place of devotion rather than burden, you become a leader in your life and that expands into each person whose life you touch. Every interaction becomes meaningful. True leadership is sacred. It’s an act of service. By recognizing yourself as the leader you are, you can embody greater self-confidence, deeper inner power, and more love.  Whether you’re parenting, mentoring, working, or caregiving — you are offering light into the world. That’s not burden. That’s purpose in motion. Responsibility doesn’t have to weigh you down. It can lift you up — when it flows from devotion.

This week, choose one thing you’ve been carrying as a burden and ask: ‘How can I hold this with love instead of pressure?’

You’re not here to carry it all. You’re here to live on purpose. And when you lead from love, even the ordinary becomes sacred. Sending you so much love!

  • The Intuition Secret That Led Alysa Liu to Gold

The Intuition Secret That Led Alysa Liu to Gold

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About The Intuition Secret That Led Alysa Liu to Gold

Have you ever found yourself at a crossroads—pulled between what the world expects of you and a quieter, more mysterious voice calling you toward something different?

That quiet voice is your intuition. And listening to it can feel like a radical act. But that act of listening… it just might lead you to a miracle.

Let me tell you the story of someone who did just that.

    The Olympian Who Walked Away

Alysa Liu was a skating prodigy. At just 13, she became the youngest U.S. Women’s National Champion in figure skating history. By 16, she’d competed in the Olympics and World Championships. Everyone assumed she was on the fast track to becoming one of the sport’s biggest stars.

And then… she retired. At 16.

No injury. No dramatic fallout. Just a deep, quiet knowing that it was time to step away. While the world scratched its head in confusion, Alysa trusted the whisper that said: Not right now.

She chose to live a little more off the ice—experience life, feel joy, explore beyond the arena that had defined her for so long. And then, something remarkable happened…

Two years later, while skiing for the first time in her life, Alysa felt a sudden, powerful inner nudge: Maybe it’s time to skate again. So, she did. Just for fun.

That fun turned into training. The training turned into competing. And within a year, Alysa had won the gold medal at the World Figure Skating Championships at age 19.

    Talk about full-circle!

3 Shifts That Will Help You Trust Your Intuition Too

Whether you’re 16 or 60, there are powerful lessons in Alysa’s story. Here are three shifts to help you start trusting your inner voice—and allowing it to lead you to your own miracles:

    1. Intuition Feels Like Expansion (Even If It’s Hard)
Your intuition isn’t loud. It won’t shout over your to-do list or the opinions of others. But when you pause and listen, it often speaks through feeling.

The key question is: Does this choice feel expansive or contractive?

Even if your intuition is guiding you to make a tough decision—like stepping away from something familiar—it will usually come with a sense of inner expansion, relief, or calm clarity.

Your soul speaks through expansion. Your ego speaks through fear. Can you tell which one is leading?

    2. Your Intuition May Go Against the Grain
Sometimes your inner guidance leads you in a direction that doesn’t make sense to anyone else. People might question you, or worry about you, or even doubt your judgment.

But if you know, deep in your being, that it’s right for you… trust that knowing.

I remember a time in my own life when I said no to a major contract in Asia that looked incredible on paper. Everyone around me thought I was making a huge mistake.

But something in me said, Not this.

Soon after, the idea for Your Year of Miracles came through—and I knew I’d made the right choice.

    3. Following Your Intuition Leads to Miracles
When Alysa returned to skating, it wasn’t because she wanted to prove anything. She didn’t need to make a statement. She came back because something in her felt ready.

That readiness, that joy, that alignment—it led her to gold. And it all started with a whisper on a ski slope.

We don’t always know where our intuition will take us. But if we follow it, one step at a time, we often find ourselves right where we were meant to be… sometimes with miracles in hand.

    A Gentle Nudge for You

Is there something your intuition has been quietly telling you?

Maybe it’s time to pause. To rest. To begin again. Or to say yes to something that feels wild but right.

Whatever it is, I invite you to listen. To trust. To follow—even just a little.

Because your joy, your timing, and your path are not meant to look like anyone else’s.

    As the poet Rumi said,
“There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen.”

Please share below how your intuition has guided you. I can’t wait to read your stories!

  • Big Miracles from Small Acts of Kindness

Big Miracles from Small Acts of Kindness

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About Big Miracles from Small Acts of Kindness

I want to share a story with you that I recently read about a young woman named Hannah who was racing against the clock to get some last hours with her mother before she passed away.

Hannah’s mom, Kathleen, was in critical condition after she got undiagnosed pneumonia that progressed into septic shock. Kathleen’s doctors had notified her family that she didn’t have much time left to live, so Hannah rushed to book a flight to a small airport in North Dakota where her mother lived.

But because of the limited flights to the small airport, the first flight she could get was on the following day, and each hour she had to wait was an hour she wouldn’t get to spend with her mom.

Once she was on the flight the next day, the plane’s takeoff was delayed due to technical issues. Hannah started panicking, because she had just a half-hour layover before her connecting flight in Minneapolis, and knew she wouldn’t be able to make it.

Hannah shared her situation with one of the flight attendants, hoping that there was some sort of solution, only to find out that her connecting flight had already been rebooked for the next morning.

Hannah broke down in tears, and felt so anxious thinking of her mother being alone through this. Well, Hannah’s story moved the flight attendant to tears as well, and she decided to go speak directly to the pilot to see what could be done.

The pilot was also moved by Hannah’s story, and so he called the dispatchers of the connecting flight in Minneapolis to see if they could possibly hold the flight, and… they said yes!

The whole crew was working together to get Hannah on her next flight so that she could have as many remaining hours with her mom as were possible. One person on the flight gave Hannah their seat at the front of the plane so that she could exit faster. Someone else got out airport maps to help Hannah find the fastest route to the gate. And others gave her caring smiles or words of encouragement.

When the plane landed, Hannah was escorted off first, and ran through the airport with tears streaming down her face. She was greeted at her new flight by a welcoming crew who got her to the airport in North Dakota safely.

Hannah was then able to spend the remaining hours of her mom’s life with her. Her mom passed away the next day.

Hannah said that each act of kindness from each person added up to give her one of the most important moments in her life – which was to be there with her mom.

I love this story, because it’s such an expression of how we’re all part of a greater web of miracles together.

So often, it’s easy to look around at the world today and think – what can I possibly do to help the state of things?

The answer is to listen to your heart. When you lead your life with an open heart, which is one of the foundations for living in the Miracle Zone, then the opportunities to be a miracle for someone else will knock on your heart.

We are all interconnected and the Universe speaks to us through our hearts and intuition. When you feel a nudge to do some sort of small act of kindness, you can trust that you’re being invited to be a miracle for someone else in a way you might not ever really know. It could be as simple as:

    • Opening the door for someone
    • Complimenting the person at the cash register
    • Calling a relative out of the blue

It might seem small or insignificant to you, but you never know what part your small act of kindness plays in someone else’s miracle story.

And as you give, you receive, and you can also trust that the miracles energy you give comes back to you tenfold. And you will simply feel amazing from listening to what’s calling your heart and acting on it.

This week, I invite you to simply listen to your heart.

Notice when you feel a nudge to do something kind for someone else. And then, if you’re able to – do the thing, and notice how you feel afterward. You’ll probably feel a wave of miracles energy filling up your heart and brightening your day.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this – leave a comment and share what miracles you’ve experienced through giving or receiving small acts of kindness.

And I’ll leave you with a quote from Desmond Tutu:

“Do your little bit of good where you are. It’s those little bits of good together that overwhelm the world.”

    Have a beautiful week!

Please share with us below about the miracles you’ve experiences through giving and receiving acts of kindness.

  • Keep the Faith That Miracles Are Coming

Keep the Faith That Miracles Are Coming

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About How to Keep the Faith That Miracles Are Coming

Are there some miracles you’ve been wishing for for a long time? Or have you found yourself giving up some hope that miracles are coming? Well here’s a story about how you should always keep the faith that miracles are on the way.

Two days after Christmas last year, two fishermen in Northern Indiana were out scouting for fishing holes. They were about to pack up and head home, when they saw something shiny in the distance underneath an interstate bridge. Their curiosity got them, and they walked toward the shiny object and slowly figured out what they were seeing was a mangled truck. They got closer to the truck and one of the men went right up to the driver’s side door and pulled the airbag back and found a man right there in the seat! They assumed that he must be dead, but the fisherman put his hand on the man’s shoulder, and the man swung around and woke up!

The man said that he had been stuck there since the previous Wednesday, which at that point, was 6 days before that. He hadn’t been able to reach his phone because of the way he was stuck in the mangled truck, so all he could do was yell and cry out for help, but no one heard him.

The weather during this time had gone down 29 degrees Fahrenheit, making his chances very rare of surviving. And he survived by only drinking rainwater. He told the fishermen who found him that he had nearly given up all hope, because no one was there, and all he could hear was the sound of the water.

Can you imagine those 6 days, which must have felt like 6 years – not knowing if you’d survive? The local police sergeant shared that, with how low the temperatures were dropping on that 6th night, he didn’t think the man would have made it if it weren’t for the two fishermen who discovered him right on time. How’s that for a Christmas miracle?

Here are three things to remember from that story to help you keep the faith that miracles are coming.

First, is that the Divine works through each of us and we’re all a part of one another’s miracle stories.

You play a part in not only your miracles, but the miracles of everyone around you. You can participate wholeheartedly by listening to your nudges and following your intuition. Maybe you get a nudge to do something kind for someone you don’t know, or to call a distant family member out of the blue. Or maybe you feel a nudge to drive a different way to work or to go to a place you don’t usually go. By following your divine curiosity, you participate in the grand miracles unfoldment that you are an important part of, whether you know it or not.

Next is that Delays are Not Denials.

Just because the miracle you’re intending hasn’t shown up yet, doesn’t mean that there isn’t divine timing for it to show up. Keep holding the vision of the miracle you’re intending, and knowing that it’s possible for you. You can also lean on the intention of “This or something better.” There may be something even better than the miracle you have in mind that’s in store for you – be open to it.

Finally, third is that every “Now moment” has the possibility for miracles.

If you’ve spent a lot of years doing inner work and personal growth work, and you’ve experienced some great miracles, but some still feel out of reach, you might have lost the enthusiasm and the faith that you had at the beginning of your journey. You need to reinvigorate our faith in the miraculous. Notice the miracles, big or small, that you experience every day. And when you see someone else with a miracle, you can lean on a phrase that my friend and co-founder of Your Year of Miracles Debra Poneman taught us, which is, “And that’s for me!” Start seeing everything as evidence of the miracles that are coming for you.

To give you even more of a boost, let’s do something we do in our Your Year of Miracles calls for our members that I call supercharging…

    1. I invite you to bring to mind a miracle or miracle that you may have given up faith on. It can be any area of life. What area needs some extra supercharging?
    2. Now that you have it in mind, we call in all of the angels, archangels, ascended masters, and all of our divine support team to surround us with their pure miracles energy.
    3. We hold up the miracles that are in the mind of each person here who’s watching or listening to this. We imagine golden rays of love encircling you and your miracles. We see you living out your miracle and experiencing greater joy, peace, gratitude, happiness, and abundance.
    4. We supercharge your miracles with deep divine love and divine energy. We hold your miracles and your intentions with love in our hearts, and we see them manifested in perfect timing, or something better. And so it is.

Every moment has the possibility for miracles. Keep the faith and see the miracles that are all around you right now. Let me know in the comments what resonated the most from the message for you and how it felt to receive that supercharging.

I’ll leave you with this quote from Fannie Flagg:

“Don’t give up before the miracle happens.”

May you have a week full of curiosity, faith, and miracles – big and small. I send you love!

Please share with us below about your thoughts about faith and the Divine.

  • The Miracle of Giving Thanks

    The Miracle of Giving Thanks

Today’s Miracle Moment Is About The Miracle of Giving Thanks

In the US, Thanksgiving is coming up, and in Canada, people celebrated Thanksgiving last month. And all sorts of holidays around the world are happening this season. This is a great time where we’re in a collective vibrational frequency of gratitude and celebration.

I love Thanksgiving because the collective consciousness is focused on Gratitude and Gratitude is one of the highest vibrations we can tune into. Giving thanks helps us become a vibrational match for miracles.

As we get closer to the end of the year, it’s really powerful to be in gratitude, as this helps set us up for an even more miraculous year ahead.

Even though Thanksgiving is supposed to be focused on giving thanks, that can be hard.  It’s a time for family gatherings and not everyone is excited to go to family gatherings – there can be unhealed stuff between family members, triggers, or that family members who has that rare gift of saying things that make everyone else uncomfortable. It’s like that quote by Ram Dass that says,

“If you think you’re enlightened, spend a week with your family.”

Giving thanks is powerful because what you put your attention on grows stronger. When you put your attention on what you appreciate, you get more of that.  What you appreciate, appreciates. When your attention is on what you’re grateful for, you start noticing more and more of that. And, the people in your life naturally blossom when they’re seen in that light of gratitude and appreciation.

On the other hand, when you put your attention on what you judge, you get more of that.  if you’re focusing on what drives you crazy about someone, that’s all you start to notice about them.

Giving thanks and appreciation for the people in your life is a gift for you and the people in your life because it shifts the energy between you to a higher vibration.

Here’s a great way to really apply the principle of giving thanks during your Thanksgiving or holiday gathering with family and friends. It’s called the Appreciation Feast.

This can shift your energy and your whole family’s energy:

I have been doing this with my family at Thanksgiving for 20 years. On Thanksgiving, we feast on a lot of food, but it’s this feast that has made my recent Thanksgivings awesome.

We go around the table and appreciate one thing about each person at the table.

The first year we did this, we started with my Mom. I said, “Mom, something I appreciate about you is how generous you are.” Then the next person said they appreciated how funny she was. By the end of the appreciations, she was in tears. Then we moved to the next person.

To do this, you go around the entire table one person at a time until each person is appreciated by everyone. This is such a feast!

Maybe you think – I don’t know if my family would ever want to do that. Well, you won’t know if you don’t try. And if you start things off by expressing your appreciation for one family member, soon, everyone else will want to chime in and get involved.

And if you’re not able to get together in person, you can even do an Appreciation Feast over Zoom or video calls.

If you want to capture this, remember to record it via video. I promise when those people are gone, you’re going to treasure that video!

One little tip…the first year we did our appreciation feast before the meal, while the meal was getting cold. So, we suggest you do your appreciation feast after the meal and before dessert instead.

This is a sure way to have a most heart-opening experience of Thanksgiving.

So, you can start the Appreciation Feast in the comments – what or who are you thankful for in your life? Let’s all be in this miraculous energy of gratitude together. And I’ll leave you with this quote from Meister Eckhart:

“If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough.”

I’m wishing you a beautiful holiday season and beyond, and sending you my love!

Please share with us below who/what are you grateful for in your life…

    Welcome to today’s Miracle Moment.

In the United States, Thanksgiving will be here very soon; in Canada, you celebrated last month. But wherever you are in the world, every day is a great day for Thanksgiving. And, it’s really great that we actually have one day of the year where we turn our primary focus to thankfulness and gratitude.

Thanksgiving is a vibrational frequency as well. Vibrationally speaking, the Universe operates in a complete celebration, and when we’re in a state of gratitude and praise, we’re resonating at the frequency of the universe. This is a beautiful time of the year when we’re in a collective state of gratitude. A large group of people zero in on that specific vibrational frequency.

Here’s a wonderful appreciation process that we want to share with you called The Appreciation Feast.

I (Marci) have been doing this with my family at Thanksgiving for 20 years.

This year, if you’re not able to get together in person, you can do an Appreciation Feast via Skype or a free Zoom account.

I (Marci) want to start the Appreciation Feast early this year by expressing my appreciation for Sue and Lisa — my dear friends and co-teachers in Your Year of Miracles:

“Sue, something I love and appreciate about you is that you are one of the most extraordinary light beings on the planet. You are truly living in the Miracle Zone. You are the embodiment of what it is we teach in Your Year of Miracles. Being around you, I catch it. I love and honor how you are committed to living your life in the Miracle Zone.

“Lisa, you are a living and breathing miracle yourself. I’m so grateful for the energy, brightness, and vitality you radiate. You’re an absolute gift in my life and in the lives of each and every person in Your Year of Miracles. Thank you for the incredible impact you make in the world by being who you are and sharing the wisdom from your soul.”

And we, Sue and Lisa, want to express our appreciation for you:

“Marci, we so appreciate that you are always looking to the light, to the bright, and you’re seeing that in people and pulling it out. You’re always opening doors and being a wayshower. You show up to people in such a beautiful and amazing way. You see what people can do and become and you inspire them towards their best life.  It is  beautiful when brilliance meets such an uplifting disposition. We so appreciate being in your sphere of engagement—it has changed our lives.”

How did that expression of appreciation feel for you? Just being in an energy of gratitude and appreciation and the energy of Thanksgiving generally feels really good for everybody.

AND, we want you to know that we truly appreciate you! We appreciate you for connecting with us and with our miraculous community—the more the merrier! The more that we can appreciate life together and have a commitment to goodness together, the better life becomes.

Our invitation to you is to spend not just Thanksgiving day, but spend the entire week in a feeling of gratitude and appreciation for life.

We end this Thanksgiving Miracle Moment with a quote by Meister Eckhart, a 13th century mystic who said…

“If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is ‘thank you,’ it will be enough.”

Thank you for your beautiful heart and soul!

Please share your experience of the Appreciation Feast in the comments section below and on our Facebook page. We love hearing from you!

  • The Power of the Seventh Chakra

The Power of the Seventh Chakra

Today’s Miracle Moment is about the seventh chakra or energy center, which is about our connection to the oneness of life.

We all crave connection, and today’s Miracle Moment is about the most powerful connection of all– to the oneness of life. Opening the seventh chakra can help you tap into this blissful connection. Our seventh chakra, located at the top of the head, is referred to as the crown chakra, and it’s the energy center for connecting to our divinity, to spirit and to oneness. It creates a feeling of unity in life, a feeling of connection with all of life. From our experience, when this seventh Chakra opens, life feels more magical–it’s what we call “living in the Miracle Zone.”

Today we’ll share a practice to help open the crown chakra and your connection to divinity. Truly, it’s who you are. You’re a divine being manifest here on this planet in human form. So, you’re not a human being–you’re just being human. You’re actually made of these divine energies that you can tap into and access.

To tap into the divine energy, we share this practice to open the crown chakra. . .

    • Imagine a funnel
Imagine that you have a giant funnel sticking out of the top of your head that goes out to the planets above you, to the sun and the moon and the whole Milky Way. This funnel goes to the constellations and other galaxies far beyond; it goes into stardust and makes its way out to the unmanifest world. When you imagine and create an energetic funnel, it becomes a channel for pure connection.
    • Breathe from and into the Crown Chakra
Now, you can keep that connection alive by specific breathing practice.  Pick a spot about two inches beneath the surface of your skull and then pick another spot two inches above your head. Inhale from the spot two inches above your head and exhale from the spot two inches beneath the surface of your skull — about the center of your brain. Then inhale from the center of the brain and exhale right back out to two inches above your head. Pretend that you’re a whale blowing out the blow hole. Exhale like a whale would, with power, right up through the crown of your head. Next inhale as if you’re just breathing right in through the soft spot when you were a baby, right into the center of your brain. Then exhale right back out.
    • Expand and connect
As you start to practice this center of the brain breathing, expand it further.  Breathe further above the head. Start to incorporate the funnel you created to breathe in the planets, the constellations, and the cosmos. Breath it all right back down into the body. That’s how we start to open this gateway and allow these energies to integrate so instead of feeling like a separate self, we feel connected.

Do this practice regularly and you’ll probably start to feel like a different person (or more of who you really are). You can also go back and review the other Miracle Moments practices we’ve shared and do those as well.  This energy work connects you to the truth of who you are.

In the work that I (Marci) did interviewing people about happiness, the most consistent quality I found amongst unconditionally happy people is a feeling of connection to the greater energy of the universe. This seventh Chakra practice is a brilliant way to help us feel more connected to the divinity of who we truly are. So, start this practice right away and then share with us what’s opening for you either on our Facebook page and in the comments section below.

Many people comment about feeling a lightness or tingling in the head while doing this practice. Did you have a similar experience? Or what sensations or openings did you feel?

We’ll end today with a beautiful quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“We live in succession, in division, in parts, in particles. Meantime within man is the soul of the whole; the wise silence; the universal beauty, to which every part and particle is equally related; the eternal ONE.”

Let us open to the truth of our eternal oneness, and as we do, may we live more fully in the Miracle Zone!

  • The Power of the Sixth Chakra

The Power of the Sixth Chakra

Today’s Miracle Moment is about the sixth chakra or energy center, which is often called the third eye.

The sixth chakra, located in the area between the eyebrows, is our energy center that helps expand our perspective and vision–it’s our center for true seeing and intuition. Opening the sixth chakra is one of the ways that we can most powerfully open up to the energy of the Miracle Zone, where miracles more easily flow into our life.

When we have clear vision, and when we connect in deeply to our intuition, we have a greater sense about where to go and what to do. We make decisions that are informed by our intuition and that are aligned with our greater good.

It’s great to hear about opening our energy centers, but the real value comes from actually using these practices to truly open them.  Dr. Sue has great practical techniques to open up our energy centers, and in this Miracle Moment, she shares a practice to open the third eye.

While it’s called the third eye,  it should be called the first eye because it’s about seeing the real you, the you that existed long before you decided to come to the earth. The you that existed before you got freaked out about being a human being who is trying to figure out how to get back to the truth of who you are.

Our first eye has access to our multidimensionality. We’re not just physical human beings who are struggling through this life on earth. We’re much more! We’re spirit beings who came into form, and we have access to tremendous resources to live in the Miracle Zone as soon as we start to recognize the truth of who we are.

Opening our sixth chakra is fabulous because it allows us to activate the higher brain centers that are above the primitive brain. This opening helps us operate creatively to figure out what we want and move towards it.

Join us in this practice to open the sixth chakra…

    • Sit up straight and keep your nose pointed forward. Roll your eyes up and slightly together in a comfortable position. Don’t make it tense—just enough to feel the muscles working. Keep the chin retracted slightly.

This will activate muscles that are inside the cranium which are located very close to the pineal gland. The pineal gland receives energy of high frequency quality that is considered divine. It’s considered other worldly and it is really accessing the True Self.

    • Take a deep breath in right into the tension that you can feel between the eyes. Then, relax your eyes, rolling them down.
    • Exhale and roll your eyes up, and inhale again into the tension behind the eyes.
    • Roll your eyes down and exhale. Once again, roll your eyes up and inhale. Roll your eyes down and exhale.
    • Once more, roll your eyes up and inhale divine light, divine guidance, divine truth—the truth of who I AM.
    • Exhale, dropping into your body and experience having all of this divine light, guidance, and truth right here in this life.
    • Roll your eyes up. Breathe in your own Higher Self. Breathe it into your brain. Let the brain be filled and filtering high frequency energies of possibility.
    • Roll your eyes down and exhale down through your body into the earth. Let yourself fully have all that you are receiving.
    • Roll your eyes up and take a deep breath in. Receive the light from this high frequency source, from the Cosmos.
    • Roll your eyes down and exhale. Let it be for you. Let it be you. Receive it consistently. Have it. Notice how it feels in your body, and just relax your body.

You will start to feel clear in your brain. You’ll feel more open and you’ll find yourself thinking thoughts that you wouldn’t normally allow yourself to think. These thoughts are creative in nature and meant to guide you toward understanding a bigger version of who you are—a more magnificent version of who you are. You’ll begin to manifest more in alignment with that magnificent you.

This practice and all of the body-based, somatic practices that we have been sharing with you are practices that any one of us can do. They take just a couple of minutes to do, and they start to totally restructure how you experience life.

You could spend a year mentally trying to do things to open up your vision center, or you could spend moments…consistently.

We suggest that you do this practice every day for a few weeks, just a minute or two every day. By doing this practice, you will begin to create different connections in the body and mind that will powerfully clear your mind.

Experience it and let us know how it goes for you. Share with us on our Facebook page and in the comments section below.

We’ll end with a quote by a brilliant 19th century British poet, William Blake…

“If the doors of perception were cleaned, everything would appear to man as it is—infinite.”
     ~William Blake

Let us open up that true vision that we have and see the world as infinite, and as we do, we’ll live more and more in the Miracle Zone!

  • The Power of the Fifth Chakra

The Power of the Fifth Chakra

Today’s Miracle Moment is about the fifth chakra, the energy center of communication and manifestation.

The fifth chakra, around the throat area, is where many people feel some constriction or feeling of tightness. That generally relates to an emotional tightness around communicating or speaking.

The throat chakra is about speaking your truth. It relates to listening and hearing so that you can manifest appropriately with grace and ease.

If you ever experience fear around speaking or expressing your feelings or ideas, or you simply want to be a better communicator or manifestor, you’ll appreciate the practice we share with you here that will help you open up the throat chakra.

We’re all made of energy, and energy creates vibrational sounds in the Universe and in our human system. You can do some very simple sound and toning practices to support the chakra system. Simple sounds of aah and ooh and mmm bring energy through your system in a particular way that opens you up and activates your chakras.

For this practice, you’ll be using three sounds or tones: aah, ooh, mmm.

It doesn’t have to sound pretty; it just has to be authentic.

    Let’s do this practice together…

    • Take a breath in and exhale making the expansive sound…aah. Continue making the sound of aah for about 10 seconds.
    • Imagine a channel, a tube of energy, coming right down through your body like a waterfall.
    • Take another breath in and exhale making the sound of ooh. Continue making the sound of ooh for about 10 seconds. This channels the energy down through your body and enlivens the chakra centers.
    • Take a breath in and exhale the sound of mmm for about 10 seconds. As you make the sound of mmm, feel the vibration in your mouth and in the back of your throat. This anchors the energy.

Perhaps you can feel your spine or the base of your skull vibrating. That’s you starting to land more in your body.

Do this practice when you’re wanting to listen to others with greater understanding, speak your truth more fully, or manifest with ease and grace. Life is supposed to be easy—it’s time for us to remember that!

Opening ourselves and our expression through the fifth chakra allows us to break down barriers and feel our deeper connection to others.

We suggest you do this practice once or twice a day for just a minute or two. You can invite your family members to do this with you or you can find a private place and do it by yourself.

Have a curiosity about what could happen in your life by doing this practice.

What we’ve seen is that this simple practice can help you feel greater alignment and aliveness and open you to the Miracle Zone, where miracles flow more easily into your life.

We’ll end today’s Miracle Moment with a quote from Ernest Hello who is a 19th century writer and critic who said…

“There are men who would quickly love each other if once they were to speak to each other; for when they spoke, they would discover that their souls had only been separated by phantoms and delusions.”

We wish you a great experience with speaking your truth and manifesting the miraculous!
